Solidaridad Internacional Ayotzinapa – Concejo Indígena de Gobierno (CIG) Mexico

Communiqué, Denunciation, and Call for Solidarity with the Indigenous Governing Council (CIG) and Communities of the National Indigenous Congress (CNI)

January 26, 2018 marks the 40-month anniversary of the Forced Disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa Students on September 26, 2014 in Iguala, Guerrero by agents of the military apparatus of the narco-state of President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Besides the missing 43 Ayotzinapa students, there were six civilian deaths that evening, and evidence collected at the site includes 18 spent cartridges of a caliber ONLY AVAILABLE to the Mexican federal army.  This evidence is irrefutable and undeniable.

The forensic evidence of the complicity of the Mexican government includes a text message from one of the students, the last recorded signal of one of the Ayotzinapa students while still alive: the text message was sent from student Jorge Anibal Cruz at 1:16 AM of September 27 and has been specifically located to have originated from WITHIN the Mexican Military Base of the 27th BATTALION located in Iguala, Guerrero.

In spite of the demand by the parents, with full and unbroken support by national and international Human Rights organizations and the official request from the Independent International Group of Experts commissioned by the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights to investigate and report on the Ayotzinapa case: The Mexican government has REFUSED to allow the investigative team to enter the Battalion 27 Headquarters to sift through the evidence that may be found there, included the evidence to by collected at the INCINERATOR inside the base compound.

In International Solidarity with the families of the 43 Ayotzinapa families and the Indigenous Peoples of Mexico, the Comités de Defensa del Barrio TONATIERRA will once again, as we have for the past three years and four months, take direct public action in front of the Mexican Consulate in Phoenix to DENOUNCE the complicity of the Mexican narco-state in the unresolved atrocity of the 43 Ayotzinapa students, and to lend INTERNATIONAL INDIGENOUS SOLIDARITY to the CONCEJO INDIGENA de GOBIERNO (CIG) MEXICO, whose spokeswoman Maria de Patricio Martinez (MariChuy) was attacked by heavily armed individuals on January 21, 2018 while leading the Caravan for Life across Mexico, as she contends to be registered as candidate for the presidency of Mexico.

During the course of the Caravan for Life, MariChuy has been outspoken in her denunciation of the recent murder of María Guadalupe Campanur T.  of the Purépecha Pueblo of Cherán, Michoacán whose body was found on January 18th.

During the Tour for Life, MariChuy spoke out against the murder of María Guadalupe Campanur T. of Cherán. She refused to stay silent. She refused to accept the murder of yet another (5 in Michoacán just this year) Indigenous Woman, another victim of the narco-state in Mexico.

The attack on the Caravan for Life on January 21 in Michoacán cannot go unchallenged, it cannot be allowed to be normalized or sanitized by the mass media and even worse, we cannot allow the complacency, apathy, and complicity of "Silence Gives Consent" to be the policy of pathology that has resulted in so many, too many, many times too many MISSING AND MURDERED INDIGENOUS WOMEN across the pogrom of centuries of continental genocide and colonization here our homelands of the Great Turtle Island Abya Yala.
