Phoenix, AZ – This Saturday, as thousands of protestors mobilize in
Mexico, Los Comités de Defensa del Barrio will conduct a press conference and
launch an International Boycott Campaign
in solidarity with corresponding actions of protest in Mexico in
denunciation of the corruption and collusion among economic elites in Mexico
and the USA that have degenerated the political presidential campaigns of both
countries into competitions for the electorate as a commodity to be bought and
sold.

The action will take place in front of the Mexican Consulate in Phoenix,
and will include a call for INTERNATIONAL
BOYCOTT of the financial interests in both countries that have colluded and
defiled the political processes of democracy both nationally and
internationally under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) ratified between both countries in 1994. In Arizona, the call for transparency
has focused on the perpetrators of AZ SB
1070, namely ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council and their members in the
Arizona State Legislature.
Also, the Barrio Defense Committees - Huelga del Pueblo will announce the BOYCOTT of the Vicente Fernandez concert on July 20 here in Phoenix as a prime
example of how the financial consortia of NAFTA Latino and Anglo elites
collaborate with mega media strategies and media personalities to subjugate and
attempt to “manage the message” of the Boycott
Arizona campaign of the Comités de
Defensa del Barrio who have been fighting against the policies of state
sanctioned racial profiling and discrimination legitimized by AZ SB1070.
