The ex-director of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC)
of Mexico, Tomás Zerón, requested an injunction to avoid arrest for various
crimes related to the forced disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa normalistas.
Animal Político has confirmed that the request for amparo was presented before the Eighth District judge in matters of Amparo and Federal Trials in the State of Mexico.

The former official seeks to prevent the execution of an
arrest warrant against him for the crimes of Forced Disappearance, torture and criminal
acts against the administration of justice in the case of the disappearance of the
43 Ayotzinapa students in September 2014.
The judge in the case has not consented to accept the request and has instead given the legal representative of Zerón five days to produce the digital certificate of the power of attorney that the accused has granted in his favor and that specifies the address where Zeron presently lives. Should the certificate not be produced, the request to the court could be procedurally dismissed.
Last March, the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) reportedly issued an international Red Flag notice for apprehension against Zerón de Lucio for the aforementioned crimes.
