Los Comités de Defensa del Barrio
National Day of Action Against Militarization of the Border
Tuesday July 17, 2013
NO somos Ilegales! NO somos criminales! Somos trabajadores de Pueblos Originales!
NO Somos Ilegales, NO
Somos Criminales, Somos Trabajadores de Pueblos Originales! This is not
an issue to be framed within the PATHOLOGY of the colonizer's
constraints of cognition, derivatives of the Intellect of the Western World (AKA Stand Your Ground).
This is NOT YOUR GROUND.
The DEMAND is for DECOLONIZATION and Healing, which must first begin by addressing and dismantling the DOCTRINE of DISCOVERY as the psychological pathogen that ALLOWS, LEGITIMIZES, INSTITUTES, and finally MILITARIZES the CONTINUED COLONIZATION by the Settler States of the Americas (all of them) in Violation of the Right of Self Determination of Indigenous Peoples and our Nations and Pueblos, Children of Mother Earth.

The REFORM that is required is not only between a single
American government (the USA) and our Indigenous Peoples and Nations of Abya Yala,
Cemanahuak [the Americas]. GENOCIDE
CAN NOT BE REFORMED. Nor is it a
partisan political issue that would only account with our constituencies as domesticated
electoral booty. To speak of reform
in the area of immigration policies of any American State of this continent
without addressing the violation of the Right of Self Determination of
Indigenous Peoples is blatant DENIAL of the HISTORICAL DEMAND of Indigenous
Peoples against the Colonizer States and their settler societies with
international borders institutionalized under the Republics of the Americas
(all of them) as bastards relics of the Divine Right of Kings of Christendom
and the Doctrine of Discovery 1492, the Papal Bull Inter Caetera 1493, the
Requierimiento of 1513, the Monroe Doctrine of 1823, Johnson v. M’Intosh (SCOTUS)
also of 1823, and in particular by the Treaties of Guadalupe Hidalgo 1848 and
Gadsden 1853. [USA-Mexico].

The Rights of Indigenous Peoples as Migrant Workers
Will the rights of
Indigenous Peoples as Migrant Workers,
including the Right of Self Determination, be addressed in the
COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM
package of legislation that is about to be presented, and adopted by the US Congress?
Will the concepts of Convention 169 of the International Labor Organization be introduced into the terms of engagement of the debate?
