Ms. Jude Joffe-Block, Senior Field Correspondent

KJZZ Phoenix, Arizona

Dear Ms. Joffe-Block,

Thank you for covering the perspective of our organization in the NPR piece concerning the contempt of court charges against Mr. Arpaio before Judge Snow.

The purpose of this message to establish a clarification regarding the terms of identity you used to represent our protest action at the courthouse and in other future venues. We must insist that you not refer to our participation in the public debate on Human Rights issues of our community as one that purports to represent a "Latino" constituency in any shape or form.

Please consider this message as an opportunity to engage with our organization of Indigenous Peoples in respectful dialogue and conversation to advance the debate regarding Human Rights issues in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo Territories (US-MEXICO 1848) from a position of mutual Respect and Dignity for all peoples, including for the first time since passage of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in 2007, we the Nican Tlacah Cemanahuac, Indigenous Peoples of Mexico as:

We hope to coordinate an appointment with you soon to follow up with this conversation.

All the best at your continuing efforts in the public media.

Atentamente,

*******

The denominations of "Latino" "Hispanic" "Immigrant" and "Illegal" are inaccurate and incorrect terms for our families that derive from the illegal COLONIZATION of Abya Yala beginning in 1492, and therefore will be challenged and resisted by the families of the Comités de Defensa del Barrio in the Spirit of Truth of our ancestral nations and pueblos of Anahuac and in REGENERATION of our RIGHT of SELF-DETERMINATION as Nican Tlacah, Indigenous Peoples.
