BARRIO DEFENSE COMMITTEES
PRESS RELEASE
CONTACT: SALVADOR REZA, 602.446.9928 SRZA@AOL.COM
Twisted - Obstinant - Ugly - Grandstanding - Hateful
The TOUGH Sheriff of Maricopa County
ARPAIO CAUGHT BY HIS OWN BRAVADO
PROTEST OUTSIDE PHOENIX FEDERAL COURT HOUSE
Friday October 2, 2015
4:00 - 6:00 PM
LOCATION: FEDERAL COURTHOUSE
4TH AVE AND WASHINGTON

ARPAIO FACES JUSTICE FOR DISOBEYING COURT ORDERS AND “DOING IT HIS WAY.”

Arpaio’s personal lawyer Tim Casey, according to his testimony in court, resigned because Arpaio would not listen and right out told him. “I am the sheriff and I do what I want.” Chief Sands regretted he had not resigned a year and a half earlier because Arpaio would not listen to his advice. Arpaio still believes he has the authority to enforce Federal Immigration Laws, despite Judge Snow prohibiting him from doing it, and said as much on the stand.

The Mexican Community, the most affected by Arpaio’s antics faces the ongoing attacks of anti-migrant laws like SB1070 that facilitates other police departments to continue detaining and deporting Barrio Defense Committee members. However, brown skinned descendants of indigenous peoples of this continent, from Guatemala to Argentina, live in constant persecution by Arizona Police forces shielded by the same state laws Arpaio says protects him from legal liability.

THE TONATIERRA BARRIO DEFENSE COMMITTEES COMPRISED OF FAMILIES AFFECTED BY AZ SB1070 WILL EXPRESS THEIR OUTRAGE AT 8 YEARS OF ARPAIO’S PERSECUTION OF OUR FAMILIES.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARE NOT ONLY OUTRAGED AT ARPAIO BUT ALSO AGAINST THE LAWS WHICH PERMIT LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES (POLICE, DPS) TO UTILIZE STATE LAWS TO HAVE A STRONGER COLLABORATION WITH ICE.

AZ SB1070 GIVES POLICE AUTHORITY TO ASK FOR IMMIGRATION STATUS ONCE THEY MAKE A “LAWFUL STOP". IT ALSO GIVES AUTHORITY TO DETAIN AND TRANSPORT SUSPECTED INDIVIDUALS TO ICE.

THE TONATIERRA BARRIO DEFENSE COMMITTEES ASKS ACLU AND OTHERS TO APPEAL THE DECISION. IT SETS A DANGEROUS PRECEDENT FOR OTHER STATES AND THE COUNTRY AS A WHOLE.

FORMER COUNTY SUPERVISOR MARY ROSE WILCOX WILL BE PRESENT AND WILL ADDRESS THE MEDIA.

We, the Peoples: ENDGAME and Arpaio

We must not only call for the Sheriff J. Arpaio to RESIGN, we must also wake up to the climate of collusion and criminal complicity that institutions such as the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), and their local henchmen have made the norm in Arizona. These entities, agents of Econogenics, have been instrumental in not only propping up former senator R. Pearce, Sheriff J. Arpaio, Governor J. Brewer it must be acknowledged that their effectiveness in Arizona was built upon the pathology of the centuries old psychosis of racial supremacy known as “White America”: the Wall State.
